PM's 4 BASIC RULES FOR RELIGIOUS HARMONY

Question 1a :
What are the 4 rules for religious harmony?

-All groups have to exercise tolerance and restraint.

-Keep religion seperate from politics.

-Goverment ,ust remain secular.

-Maintain the common space that all Singaporeans share.

Question 1b :
In your opinion, how can we maintain a common space in schools?

When sharing meals at schools or workplace, it has to be neutral and secular. Serving everybody food which is halal, no beef and vegetarian, will cause a problem. If this is the situation, different religious of people will never eat their meals together. The answer to this problem is that halal food on one side, vegetarian food for those who need it, no beef for those who don't eat beef so that different religious people will be able to share a meal together, acknowledging that we are not the same.Do not discourage people from interacting and do not make it difficult for us to be one people. Must be confident that eveyone will get equal treatment even though some of the people is from different religous.

Question 2 :
Do you respect other religions? Why or why not? What do you think of children who stay away from their parents' funerals because they believe the traditional rites are against their new religion?

Yes because if you do not respect other religious, others will not respect yours as well. Saying bad about other religious, rumor says that something bad may happen to you. Not only that the person will not respect your religious, it may also cause riots as two of people of different religious have become racists. Therefore, it is only causing much more problems. Respecting other religious may be a good idea as two different religious people may become a good friend or in future may be as best friends too! That is the reason why i choose to respect other relilgious. As for children who stay away from their parents' funerals because they believe the traditional rites are against their new religion, I felt that it is a kind of action that is unfilial to their parents, but they have no choice as they have to follow their own religious.
